Aleafy had three children. Hilda, my mother was the oldest. She
had two brothers, Wilbur and Franklin, the youngest. Wilbur
joined the Army Air Force shortly after High School and made it
a career, eventually retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in the
Air Force.
Franklin stayed home and worked the farm. He worked hard and
enjoyed being a manly man and a country gentleman of modest
means. Hunting, fishing, drinking, playing cards and smoking
Phillies Perfectos were a few of his accomplishments. I learned
much from his example.
