Hilda was raised on a farm in Whaleysville. She was an honor
student in High School and took the Commercial curriculum. When
she graduated, she went to work for the Calvin Taylor bank in
Berlin and boarded with relatives on Powellton Avenue. It was
a short walk to work and next door to my Aunt Mary and Uncle Mit
where she met my father.
